For more than 60 years, the water authorities of the Northern Governorate have pursued their mission to providing safe and reliable water supply.

It all started in the late 1950’s when the water authority of Tripoli was first established.  Water authorities in Koura, Dinnieh, Akkar,  Qubayyat, Zgharta, Bcharreh and Batroun soon followed resulting in 8 water authorities spread across the Northern Governorate for the next 10 years.

In year 2000, under the law 221, the 8 water authorities were merged to form the North Lebanon Water Establishment.
